Florida Sauce CItrus and Datil Pepper Blend by Fat Cat Gourmet is a one-of-a-kind condiment that represents the spirit of the Sunshine State. Featuring ingredients indicative of Florida’s agriculture, this sauce combines tangy, bitter and sour citrus (orange, grapefruit and key lime), sweet orange blossom honey and punchy datil pepper — a unique chili that thrives in St. Augustine. Flip flops and sunglasses not required (but recommended).

TASTING NOTES

Sweet citrus and thick honey to start, followed by hints of grassy green chile and slight bitterness from grapefruit and datil pepper, with a satisfying medium-heat punch to finish. Very much like a sweet-and-spicy take on a mojo sauce, if you will.

Datil done right!

A lot of datil products emphasize the heat over the flavor. Fat Cat's Florida Sauce lets the fruitiness of the datil shine through, perfectly complimented by citrus. This is datil done right! I live not very far from St. Augustine and I can say this is the BEST datil sauce I have ever tasted! 100% recommended to fans of the tropical and fans of rare-ish peppers!

We bought one bottle in a cute little market and used it all in one week! It's great on so many things - add that secret, special, amazing ingredient. We ended up ordering a case!

Sweet with decent kick

Bought November 2021, and got 2 bottles. 1st bottle emptied rather fast, as taste is sweet and fruity with a bit of a bite/kick, but not too hot. Great with B-B-Q meats, Salami, Cheeses, in Casseroles, add to your favourite salad dip to add some zest and zing. Delicious 😋 . Nice with veggy crudités too.
