Avocado Toast with Florida Sauce Drizzle

Avocado Toast with Florida Sauce Drizzle

A bright avocado toast recipe using Florida Sauce instead of lime for a citrusy kick. Quick, flavorful, and ready in under 10 minutes.

Avocado toast usually relies on lime or lemon to bring brightness to the rich, creamy avocado.

This version takes a slightly different approach.

Florida Sauce brings both citrus and heat, adding sweet and sour citrus to complement the avocado while layering in a little spice and a touch of bitterness from the datil peppers and grapefruit in the sauce. The result is a toast that’s brighter, more flavorful, and just a little more exciting than the usual version.

Best of all, it takes less than 10 minutes to make.

Avocado Toast with Florida Sauce Drizzle Recipe

By Fat Cat Gourmet
Cook time: 10 min

Ingredients

  • 2 slices good bread (artisan sourdough, multi-grain or country bread work great)
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1–2 tablespoons Fat Cat Florida Sauce
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped red onion (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped tomato (optional)
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Toast the bread until golden and crisp.
  • In a small bowl, and using a fork, mash the avocado with salt (or your seasoning of choice -- we recommend Fat Cat's Feline Fiesta Taco and Fajita Seasoning or Spicy Sandbox All-Purpose Seasoning) until creamy but still slightly chunky.
  • Spread the avocado mixture over the toasted bread.
  • Add any optional toppings if desired.
  • Drizzle with Florida Sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

Fun toppings, in addition to what's listed above, include fried eggs, fried crumbles of chorizo or spam, sliced radishes, assorted microgreens, Feline Fiesta Taco and Fajita Seasoning, crumbled feta or cotija cheese or pickled jalapenos

Florida Sauce replaces the usual squeeze of lime, giving the toast a citrusy brightness and sweetness, plus a kick of heat that pairs perfectly with creamy avocado.
